"My journey with Gives of Dreams Organization began with guest teaching for the Guest Teacher Program. I remember waking up every weekday at five in the morning to teach my students Tou and Bee. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching and learning with my students. As the first month passed by, I started to see improvement to my students’ English levels which motivated and encouraged me even more to continue waking up at five in the morning to teach even though I worked right after and had school. Additionally, I started bonding and building a close relationship with my students, bringing us even closer to each other and understanding each other’s lives better. I continued to stay with the Guest Teacher Program as one of the program’s coordinators because I could see the students improving day by day and I could see that there was more work that needed to be done to more effectively improve the students’ English language acquisition.
After the Guest Teacher Program, I decided to continue volunteering for GODO because I wanted to do what I could at the moment to help Hmong youths abroad grow, aspire to greatness, and lift themselves out of poverty. I am currently volunteering for various programs and developing new programs for GODO and hope to continue making an impact to Hmong youths abroad. Thank you GODO for the opportunity!"
